Answer:
eyelids normal, no ocular discharge. Focal raised fleshy opacity involving the temporal ventral 1/3 of the corneal surface. Long brown hairs are visible growing from this defect and washing in the tear film of the cornea. Iris, AC, lens wnl.
Name: Dermoid or choristoma
Embryologic tissue: Surface ectoderm
 Exact developmental mechanism not known. Most common theory: abnormal differentiation of surface ectoderm due to metaplasia of mesenchyme (neural crest) which would be inducing the SE (VO. 2008. 11(3)204)
